River beach of Olhos D'Água do Alviela

The river beach Olhos de Água has an excellent natural setting with ample green areas. It is next to the source of the Alviela river, a spectacular place but where the water is very cold. Here you can also visit the Centro de Ciência Viva do Alviela, where you discover that it is on top of one of the largest freshwater reservoirs in Portugal.

Caves

You can visit the Santo António Caves, with a visitable area of 6,000 m2 and whose natural ventilation guarantees a stable and constant interior temperature of 16 to 18 degrees centigrade throughout the year, or the Mira D'Aire Cave, the largest tourist cave. of Portugal that has about 11km of known extension, of which only 600 meters are open to the public and a maximum depth of the visit is 110 meters.

Serras D'Aire e Candeerios Natural Park

Kingdom of stone, this is how the entire region of Extremadura could be called, covering a vast area, from Ourém, in the north, Rio Maior, in the south, passing through Alcobaça, Porto de Mós or Torres Novas. They are the most important repository of existing limestone formations in Portugal with a karst morphology, a network of underground water courses and specific fauna, namely cave dwellings.
